The Wolverhampton & Dudley Brewery is also joined by John Rolinson and Sons of Netherton, Kidderminster Brewery Co, City Brewery Co in Lichfield and Robert Allen and Co’s wines and spirits business in Worcester.

Even during the darkest days of World War II, people wanted a great beer they could trust, so Julia Hanson & Sons of Dudley joined us.

As a group of four scouse lads formed the Beatles, we acquired the Broadway Brewery at Shifnal.
1964
Time for the City of London bowler hat brigade to get involved. The Wolverhampton & Dudley Brewery was floated on the Stock Exchange for the first time.
1992
Team GB wins a whopping five golds at the Barcelona Olympics, and back then people thought it was a brilliant result. In the meantine, JW Cameron and Co Ltd of Hartlepool becomes part of the business.
1999
As Britain prepares for the millennium celebrations, we are joined by Mansfield Brewery Co Ltd, as well as Marston, Thompson and Evershed Ltd of Burton upon Trent.

Jennings brewery was acquired.

It was decided to let go of the old company name Wolverhampton & Dudley breweries, so we became Marston’s. As well as showing that we had grown into something bigger than our regional beginnings, this name also gave nod to our heritage, by using a brewing name that’s existed since 1834.
We also acquired Ringwood brewery, best known for its award winning beers Old Thumper and Fortyniner.

Wychwood brewery was acquired, famous for the popular Hobgoblin and Brakspear ales.

Acquisition of Daniel Thwaites beer division, the acquisition included two leading brands Wainwright and Lancaster Bomber.

Acquisition of Charles Wells brewery, including the lead brand Bombardier as well as the license of world beers.
